Chris Barron, co-founder of now-defunct GOProud and self-described “LGBT for Trump,” applauded Donald Trump for unfurling a rainbow flag with “LGBTs for Trump” written in Sharpie across it as his his rally in Greeley, Colorado, on Sunday night:
Trump made history last night. MSM wants to pretend it didn't happen. He's the most pro-LGBT Pres candidate ever nominated by either party pic.twitter.com/tH1fXcKNIp

Trump “opposes marriage equality and has wavered on transgender rights and the Equality Act, which would ban anti-LGBT employment and housing discrimination,” noted LGBT-focused newsmagazine The Advocate. “Besides, his running mate, Mike Pence, has a history of support for anti-LGBT measures, including a law during his time as Indiana’s governor that would allow businesses to deny services to LGBT people based on religious reasons.”
LGBT activist Robbie Medwed countered Barron in less nuanced terms:
A Twitter feud — during which Barron referred to Medwed, who’s not trans, as “it” — ensued:
If it didn't have "he/him" in its twitter bio we would never know. https://t.co/q6WMAvA3sj

Trolling someone and calling them stupid sounds like cutting edge "civil rights" work https://t.co/Y3uuZWB5yb

No. The joke was solely about you. I respect trans people, you however are a waste of space. https://t.co/E3JzUHJMTU

The joke was only about you. Again thanks for clarifying he/him. https://t.co/CT1NiqXkcU

I still call you an it. Has nothing to do with trans. More like neuter.
