In the bits and snippets we’ve seen from former president Barack Obama’s life since he handed over power to President Donald Trump, he’s looking like the weight of the world has been lifted off his shoulders.
He seemed happy when he said farewell to everyone — after boarding what would have once been called Marine One because he was on it and then getting on what what would have once been called Air Force One because he was on it. That plane took him to Palm Springs, California, where he stayed for a few days. And he’s now in the British Virgin Islands with Virgin founder Richard Branson, having fun in the sun.
On Tuesday, Branson’s Twitter feed changed abruptly from corporate motivational platitudes — such as “The ability to get on & do it – i.e. confidence – is what sets change-makers apart from dreamers,” “Don’t spend too long fretting about what you are going to do next, just get out there & start” and“Action breeds confidence and courage… Go out and get busy” — to photos of his once-in-a-lifetime frolic in the sun with the former leader of the free world.
