Emma Dumain, a political reporter for a Charleston newspaper, tweeted Monday that she was being roughed up by a member of Ted Cruz’s security staff, who “all but pushed me into a wall,” not realizing Dumain was a member of the press.
.@tedcruz campaign security officer just grabbed my purse to keep me from interviewing him and all but pushed me into a wall.

After the incident, the campaign was quick to perform damage control, bringing the officer out to personally clear the air.
Campaign staff apologetic about incident – it was one individual -but that security guard needs to be retrained.

.@tedcruz security officer brought out to explain he was trying to do his job, didn't know who I was. Appreciate the gesture. Still miffed.

Such manhandling of reporters (as well as protesters) is not uncommon at Trump rallies, but relatively unheard of on the Cruz campaign trail. Dumain clarified that her experience was “not at all like what has been reported out of Trump rallies,” adding, “I still don’t think I should have been treated like that.”
This incident was not at all like what has been reported out of Trump rallies. I want to make that clear. I was not hurt. 1/2

2/2 I appreciate Cruz campaign's proactive effort to clear up misunderstanding. I still don't think I should have been treated like that.

Trump and his goons have a lot to learn from the crisis-averting strategies of Ted Cruz, who personally apologized and gave an interview to Dumain, who works for The Post and Courier newspaper in Charleston.
Personal apology from Cruz and got my interview. Appreciated the gesture very much.
