Fox News host Jeanine Pirro spent her Saturday night waiting for a phone call from President Donald Trump, who just finished a rally in Topeka, Kansas.

Pirro, one of Trump’s most slavishly devoted media personalities, gave a warm welcome to Trump.

“Joining me now by phone, the President of the United States, Donald Trump,” Pirro gushed. “Hi!”

“OK, so let’s get right to it,” Pirro said.

“How is your reception now, Jeanine?” Trump asked. “They had a security reception situation. But… is it OK?”

“It is OK, and you’re — you’re on air right now, Mr. President,” Pirro said. “So let’s get to it.”

“Good! I like that,” Trump said. “With you I like being on air, with your beautiful ratings.”

The two then settled into a discussion in which Pirro lavished praise on Trump for his attack on Dr. Christine Blasey Ford at a rally in Mississippi, which has been widely described at the turning point at which the Republicans circled the wagons around the nominee.

“It was instinctive, it was guttural, and you won!” she said.

“There were many, many false things that were said about a fine man,” Trump said. “He suffered. That was very unfair.”
