Rep. Ro Khanna on why Republicans are ignoring election security

Why are Republicans and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell completely uninterested in securing America's elections? A Senate report confirmed that election systems in all 50 states were targeted by Russia in the 2016 election, and special counsel Robert Mueller testified that Russia's attacks weren't "single attempts" and "they're doing it as we sit here." Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif explained on "Salon Talks" why he thinks Senator McConnell blocked two bills that would strengthen election security.

"The Republican view, the partisan view, of Donald Trump is anything that talks about elections in any way is undermining his victory of 2016. And they can't look beyond that," Rep. Khanna told SalonTV's Dean Obeidallah.

"You could have countries interfering regardless. And just like I wouldn't want Norway interfering on behalf of Bernie Sanders, I don't want another country interfering on behalf of Donald Trump. I don't think that's a very partisan statement."
