Good night and good frock?

After the Oscars wrapped up last night, I flipped briefly to "E!" to catch a bit of the post-show, and was struck by the differences between the backstage questions asked of best-supporting-actor winner George Clooney and those asked of best-actress winner Reese Witherspoon.

Now there's lots of great Academy coverage on Salon already today, and I had neither TiVo nor tape recorder, so this is rough, but here's what I heard reporters ask Clooney: Do you think the nominated films this year are left of center? What do you think about your fellow best-director nominee Ang Lee?

Here's what I heard them ask Witherspoon: Where did you get your dress? No, seriously, can you tell us more about your dress? It has so much beading; is it heavy?
