A cakewalk for Mukasey?
George W. Bush's pick to replace Alberto Gonzales goes before the Senate Judiciary Committee today, but you'll be excused if you don't feel the need to glue yourself to C-SPAN. Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy says he likes Michael Mukasey and expects him to be confirmed. Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer, who led the charge against Gonzales, does Leahy one better: "If the hearings go as well as the interviews [with senators] have, then he'll be confirmed by a very large majority."
