Obama hits back at Clinton ad

Barely eight hours after Hillary Clinton's "3 a.m." ad showed up, Barack Obama puts out his own version of the same commercial.

Barack Obama's campaign has a new commercial running in Texas, responding to Hillary Clinton's "3 a.m." ad.

The response uses some of the same footage in Clinton's ads of sleeping children, and it starts the same way. "It's 3 a.m., and your children are safe and asleep," both ads open. But the new spot veers off Clinton's script, pointing out that Barack Obama -- not Clinton -- opposed the Iraq war when it started. "In a dangerous world, it's judgment that matters," the narrator says.

Now both ads are running in the same state, and Obama's copycat response could make it harder for Clinton's message -- that he's not experienced enough to be president -- to sink into voters' heads by Tuesday. Obama himself also pushed back on the ad earlier in the day, saying the country "already had a red phone moment," which Clinton (and President Bush, and John McCain) failed by supporting the war.

Obama's ad is below.
