Even Glenn Beck's bashing the Birthers

The radio and Fox News host doesn't normally dismiss conspiracy theories -- not this one, though

Glenn Beck has never been one to shy away from a good conspiracy theory. And he's not what you'd call a fan of President Obama's. But on his radio show this week, when one of his crew jokingly brought up the issue of Obama's birth certificate, Beck slapped the whole thing down.

Scarily enough, in fact, he sounded, well, a little like me. "Everybody says, 'Why is Barack Obama not just producing the birth certificate?' OK, first of all, he did, and you're never going to get a conspiracy theory to stop. I mean, we've got a moon rock sitting in the Smithsonian!" Beck said. "One of the reasons why he doesn't just come out is because it is so great for him, because it immediately marginalizes anyone who says that kind of stuff."

Of course, because it's Beck, he also predicted that any actual discovery that Obama was in fact born in Kenya and subsequent attempt to remove him from office would lead to civil war. But for him, that's normal.
