Police blotter: Catcher apologizes

San Francisco Giants catcher Eliezer Alfonzo has apologized to everyone in the world for getting caught using performance-enhancing substances.

Performance was enhanced to the tune of .250/.284/.359 last year

Alfonzo, 29, tested positive under Major League Baseball's program. He was demoted to the Giants' Triple-A team in Fresno on Opening Day but remains on the 40-man roster and thus subject to MLB law and order. His 50-game suspension began Thursday.

That's it: I'm going to go ahead and say the Giants aren't going to win the National League West.
