On the season-ending episode of Martial Law (9 p.m. Sat., CBS), Sammo swears vengeance on the evil Lee Hei for Master Reng's death. Cuba Gooding Jr. hosts Saturday Night Live (11:30 p.m. Sat., NBC) with music from the muy caliente Ricky Martin. Stephen Hawking makes a voice cameo on an episode of The Simpsons (8 p.m. Sun., Fox) in which Lisa is inducted into the Springfield chapter of Mensa. Muhammad Ali guests as himself on Touched by an Angel (8 p.m. Sun., CBS). Mulder has an alien epiphany in a cave on The X-Files (9 p.m. Sun., Fox). Masterpiece Theatre (check local times, Sun., PBS) begins a two-part adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations," starring Ioan Gruffudd as Pip and Charlotte Rampling as Miss Havisham. One of the partners is brutally attacked on the season finale of The Practice (10 p.m. Sun., ABC).

The "National Geographic" special Avalanche: The White Death (8 p.m. Sat., NBC) is a testament to the awesome power of moving snow. Sigourney Weaver hosts Why Dogs Smile and Chimpanzees Cry (8 p.m. Sun., Discovery Channel), a look at the emotional lives of animals. The new TV movie The Hunt for the Unicorn Killer (9 p.m. Sun., NBC) is the story of '60s activist Ira Einhorn, who fled to France after murdering his girlfriend, and the girl's father's efforts to have him extradited to stand trial. Tom Skerritt and Kevin Anderson star. Sidney Poitier plays a humble farmer who stands his ground when developers want to buy his land in the new TV movie The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn (9 p.m. Sun., CBS).
