Series

A member of the Kucha tribe has an accident and has to be airlifted to civilization on Survivor: The Australian Outback (8 p.m., CBS). We're hoping the injured party is Great White Hunter Michael -- perhaps a nice deep goring by the little wild pig's big brother. On Gilmore Girls (8 p.m., WB), Rory's long-absent dad comes for a visit, raising all sorts of conflicted emotions for Lorelai. Sara gets personally involved -- hey, what else is new? -- while investigating a rape case on CSI (9 p.m., CBS). The new cop series Big Apple (10 p.m., CBS) debuts. David Milch, the guy responsible for all that obtuse, tortured dialogue on "NYPD Blue," and Anthony Yerkovich (co-producer of "Miami Vice") teamed up on this ensemble drama about the antagonistic working relationship between a pair of NYPD detectives (Ed O'Neill of "Married ... with Children" infamy and Jeffrey Pierce) and a pair of FBI agents (David Strathairn and the always interesting Titus Welliver, from "Brooklyn South" and "Falcone").
