Every day I log onto the major English speaking newspapers, and am increasingly disturbed by the muffling of free speech that is happening around the world. Not to mention the increasing focus on celebrity culture. Your publication is such a relief - I felt like I'd stumbled into a community of like-minded citizens the day I first logged onto salon.com, even when I personally don't agree with some of the articles. But the fact that you publish genuinely diverse views is to be applauded, too.

Thanks again from a very happy subscriber.

Mr. Talbot: Happy anniversary. Subscribing to your premium service seemed like a shot in the dark, but it's paid off in spades. You are, as you claim, a welcome voice of sanity and common sense in a media swamp dominated by corporate distortion and/or lightweight pontificating. Keep up the good work.

You folks have a wonderful thing going. Where else can someone, for the price of a year-long subscription to a monthly, get great, new reads every day? I look forward to subscribing next year as well, and have recommended Salon Premium to everyone I can.
