Buyers' remorse?

Eric Boehlert points out in Salon today that George W. Bush is on track to be the least popular president sworn into office in the history of modern presidential opinion polling. Usually, newly-elected presidents enjoy some measure of a "honeymoon" with the public; Bush saw his approval ratings plummet since the election.

Today, CNN and Gallup have a new poll showing that this trend continues: "49 percent of respondents said they approved of the job the president is doing. That number is down from his November approval rating of 55 percent. Bush is the first incumbent president to have an approval rating below 50 percent one month after winning re-election."

Sorry, folks, no exchanges or refunds on this one. He's yours for four more years.
