Chicago's Head of Femur play indie pop of the overflowing-cornucopia-of-sounds variety -- and they have something of an overflowing cornucopia of a band roster too, with 30 musicians appearing on their new record, "Hysterical Stars." It's all a little frenetic and ADD-ish, but this is one of the best of the post-Elephant-6 bands, forging ahead with that noble and gleeful tradition of overarranged, overcheerful, gild-the-lily-with-sprinkles-on-top pop.
