That's one angry judge

The Tennessee judge who makes Judge Judy sound like a preschool teacher

If there's one thing Judge Ray Grimes of Clarksville, Tenn., simply can't stand, it's when the law interferes in parents' God-given right to beat up their kids. At least, that's the impression you'd get from Grimes' recent court performance, where he angrily declined to hear the case of a man arrested for allegedly trying to choke his daughter after she was caught shoplifting at a local mall. Things start off as less than promising when the judge's first response to the charge is "I don't find his actions offensive," but it goes seriously downhill at about two and a half minutes -- just after Grimes offers the opinion that the "natural response of a father of a child who has just been charged with shoplifting is just to beat the holy heck out of 'em." Listen to the whole thing here (MP3, 4:51). The arresting officer, Sgt. Mark Wojnarek, whom Grimes yells at in the clip, has since filed a complaint with the state.
