Quote of the Day
Former New York Times reporter Judy Miller, on blogs and bloggers.
November 14, 2006 1:09AM (UTC)
Add another item to the list of former New York Times reporter Judy Miller's dubious accomplishments: redefining the word "irony."
Atrios, quote of the day comes via this article on Miller today; she told an audience at Kansas State University that she's "worried about bloggers" because "[a post] starts as a rumor and within 24 hours it's repeated as fact."
Gosh, unsubstantiated rumors repeated as fact? Well, we guess Miller would know something about that, having given us stories like "
U.S. Says Hussein Intensifies Quest for A-Bomb Parts," " U.S. Analysts Link Iraq Labs to Germ Arms," " U.S-Led Forces Occupy Baghdad Complex Filled With Chemical Agents" and " Aftereffects: Prohibited Weapons; Illicit Arms Kept Till Eve of War, An Iraqi Scientist Is Said to Assert."
