Bush roars into the 20s

His approval rating is the lowest of any modern president at this point in his second term.

Proof that Iraq is not Vietnam: In a new CBS News poll, George W. Bush's approval rating falls to 28 percent. Lyndon Johnson's approval rating bottomed out at 35 percent in August 1968.

Proof that George W. Bush is not Bill Clinton: Bush's approval rating is lower than that received by any other modern president at this point in his second term. Richard Nixon didn't make it to the beginning of his seventh year in office. As Clinton entered his seventh year in office, his approval rating stood at 65 percent -- more than double Bush's current rating -- despite the fact that he'd already been impeached by the House of Representatives.
