California's !!! (pronounced chk chk chk) has garnered attention in some of the right places with a blend of punkish dissonance and disco rhythms that sound great in grotty dance clubs, though "Infinifold," from the the band's upcoming album, "Myth Takes," doesn't quite fit that mold. Instead, the song is a slow burner, better suited for the tired, groggy glamour of the chill-out room than the dance floor. Dig the way singer Nic Offer's ghostly falsetto flits in and out of the lonely columns of guitar and keyboard. It's a spooky, intriguing performance.
