Bad all over

The U.S. death rate in Iraq rises to its highest point since the war began.

It won't get a lot of attention amid the coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings, but McClatchy Newspapers is up with a sobering reminder that not all of the bad news in the world is coming out of Blacksburg. Over the last six months, McClatchy says, "American troops have died in Iraq at the highest rate since the war began."
