Orrin Hatch urges his colleagues to remember all the good things about Alberto Gonzales.

As we've listened to Alberto Gonzales' Senate Judiciary Committee hearing today, we've been struck by the fact that even the rubber stampiest of Republican senators -- hello, Sen. Cornyn! -- have had harsh words for the attorney general.

Then there's Orrin Hatch. The Utah Republican just told Gonzales that the concerns over his handling of the prosecutor purge must be contrasted with "the years of service you've given at the White House and the Justice Department and all of the really good things you've been able to do."
