The next time a Republican starts trashing a Democrat for disrespecting the troops, let's remember how former Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson trivialized the deaths of 4,002 coalition soldiers and an untold number of Iraqis on the way to eulogizing Karl Rove today: "The complications of Iraq," Gerson writes, "have obscured Rove's victories, not undone them."
