Livin' La Vida Clinton

Hillary Clinton announces a major new endorsement.

Apparently, Hillary Clinton makes Ricky Martin want to take his clothes off and go dancing in the rain. Or something like that, at least: The Clinton campaign just announced Martin's endorsement of Clinton.

It may seem like a weird time for this kind of endorsement to be announced -- not to mention just plain weird for the Clinton camp to care about the support of a celebrity whose time in the spotlight has passed -- but remember that Martin is a native of Puerto Rico and got his start in Menudo, a boy band from the island that was once hugely popular. The announcement was timed, no doubt, to coincide with the primary in Puerto Rico, which will be held on Sunday.

"These elections will have historic repercussions both in the United States and the world. Senator Clinton has always been consistent in her commitment with the needs of the Latino community," Martin said in a statement. "Whether fighting for better education, universal health care [or] social well-being, as First Lady and Senator from New York -- representing millions of Latinos -- she has always fought for what is most important for our families."
