Meet your 2008 Democratic ticket: Obama-Biden.

Just around midnight Central time (in Chicago, where Barack Obama's headquarters is, and in Springfield, Ill., where he'll appear Saturday), CNN's John King reported, via two unnamed sources, that Joe Biden will be Obama's running mate. The Associated Press confirmed the story shortly after that.

A text message alerting supporters is expected to go out a few hours before Obama and Biden appear at a rally in downtown Springfield -- where Obama kicked off his campaign for president 20 months ago -- Saturday afternoon. Then Obama and Biden will tour battleground states before arriving in Denver, where Biden will address the Democratic convention Wednesday and Obama will accept the party's nomination Thursday.
