Hail to the veep!

Joe Biden is toasted for his pre-VP triumph: the Violence Against Women Act, now turning 15.

As I mentioned earlier, Jennifer Block asked on Babble.com, "Did we ever envision an organic garden being planted at the White House by the nation's black first family?" About as often as we envisioned torture a Violence Against Women Act being championed by a Vice President.

But this just in over the Pinch Me wire: Today (as we speak), Legal Momentum honors our current (crushworthy?) veep with its Hero award at a symposium marking the 15th anniversary of VAWA, the first comprehensive federal legislative package designed to end violence against women and put the issue on the national agenda. Thanks for helping make it so, Joe.
