Video of the day: "Badder Romance"

A few Lady Gaga-loving college friends remind us why the Internet was invented

There have already been countless parodies and remakes of Lady Gaga's instant classic "Bad Romance" video, most of which one can safely assume are awful. But one that earned a "Holy shit" from the Lady herself seemed worth checking out -- and let me tell you, it does not disappoint.

"So, here's the story," begins the YouTube description of BINK Productionz' (i.e., friends Britnee, Ian, Nikki and Kayla's) deservedly viral "Badder Romance."

Two of us got Flips for Christmas. And we were all in the car, and Bad Romance comes on the radio. So naturally, we start rocking out to it, dancing in the car like a bunch of freaks. Ian, being the thinker, whipped out his Flip and started recording it. When the song was over, we realized he never hit record. First we were all "Oh maan." Then we were all "LET'S REMAKE THE ACTUAL VIDEO!" Finally we were all "WHOO! YEAAAH! \(:D)/

As my smart friend Laura said when she posted the video on Facebook, "I miss college sometimes."

The no-budget shot-by-shot recreation of the original is sheer genius, from the laundry baskets to the Wal-Mart bag tank top to the creative use of tin foil and stuffed animals to... well, just wait for the thong. I could not love these kids more. As Britnee says in the (extremely profane) series of outtakes immediately following the video, that's "fucking dedication, Gaga."
