Willow Smith is a "21st century girl"

The Fresh Prince's daughter is not whipping her hair back and forth in her latest musical venture

Parents just don't understand.
Parents just don't understand.

There is a history in popular music of naming songs after your gender and century: "20th Century Boy" by T. Rex ; "21st Century Boy" by Sigue Sigue Sputnik AND Bad Religion; "20th Century Girl" by Pizzicato Five, and now Willow Smith's latest single "21st Century Girl." Let it be noted that Willow does not have her infamous hair to whip back and forth in her latest song, instead relying on this whole terrifying Chris Cunningham/ Aphex Twin music video vibe to relay the belief that children will both inherit, destroy, and then rebuild the earth.

Whatever you say, Willow! Sure, you can play guitar now! You can build cities out of sand! We bow to your slight, 10-year-old frame! Just don't suck us into your "Book of Eli"-style alternate universe where old women put totems on the ground and small children emerge from the desert
