On Friday, Sgt. Ray Lewis joined the ranks of Marines who have recently asked out celebrities via YouTube videos. But instead of choosing "Friends With Benefits" costars Mila Kunis or Justin Timberlake, as his fellow infantrymen and women had, Lewis targeted "Golden Girl" Betty White as the recipient of his affections. He, like us, must have thought that the stunt was cute enough to score him a date with America's sexiest grandma.

Unfortunately, that's not how it worked out. White responded in a statement yesterday afternoon:

"I am deeply flattered and truly appreciate the invitation. As everyone knows, I love a man in uniform ... but unfortunately I cannot accept, as I will be taping an episode of (TV show) 'Hot in Cleveland.'"

Oh, Betty. I love "Hot in Cleveland" as much as the rest of America ... but maybe you could find some way to work around your shooting schedule and at least meet Lewis for drinks, if not the Marine Corps Ball?
