DONE DEAL: Poland has signed an international copyright agreement that aims to harmonize standards on protecting intellectual property.
PROTESTS: Internet users fear it will lead to online censorship and protested in the streets and online this week.
ELSEWHERE: Poland was one of several European Union countries to sign the agreement on Thursday, but it appeared to be the only place where support for the agreement has caused outrage and protests by Internet activists. A Polish official says other countries that signed included Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Greece.
