PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Haitian President Michel Martelly has gone to Miami for an operation on his right shoulder.

The presidential office’s announcement Wednesday night doesn’t include specific details on the problem.

But the 50-year-old Martelly had surgery on his left shoulder in November to relieve pain that he said had bothered him for more than five years because of his previous career as a musician.

Martelly is due to return to Haiti next Thursday to host a visit by Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
