It doesn’t premiere until Sept. 25, but Fox has released the pilot for “The Mindy Project” via Hulu. Critics, who have largely been disappointed by “New Girl” and “Two Broke Girls,” are hoping that the writer-producer-actress’ show will address what’s still missing in female-lead sitcoms: consistently fresh jokes, with strong but imperfect characters.
