Comedy Central to roast James Franco

The actor revealed the news in a characteristically bizarre video

James Franco, a writer/actor/singer whose real talent is to keep fans guessing whether he's actually stoned or just pretending to be stoned, Tuesday night released a video on Instagram that heavily supports the former theory.

In what is presumably a dark room, closet or the backseat of a friend's busted minivan, Franco unceremoniously announces his upcoming roast on Comedy Central: “Hey, yo, what’s up? I’m going to get roasted on Comedy Central. Be sure to check it out. They wanted me to tell you that. All right. Ha ha.” A woman's voice can be heard giggling in the background. (Make of this what you will.)

On Wednesday morning, the network confirmed the roast:

The roast will air on Sept. 2.
