911 calls: Zimmerman pulls gun on girlfriend, then tries to save face

Once again, calls to the police evidence Trayvon Martin's killer resorting to pulling out a firearm

Any suggestions in the Trayvon Martin shooting trial that his killer, George Zimmerman, was a responsible gun owner, acting out of fear for his own safety when he pulled a gun on the teen, have at this point been wholly disabused.

Once again, Zimmerman has been arrested, this time charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal mischief for threatening his girlfriend with a gun. On Tuesday, two 911 calls were made public. Zimmerman's girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, called the police, distraught. "You just broke my glass table, you just broke my sunglasses, and you put your gun in my f------’ face, and told me to get the fuck out!” Scheibe shouts at Zimmerman during the call.

Then, in a perturbing twist while the police were outside Scheibe's home with the victim, Zimmerman himself puts in another call to 911 in which he claims his girlfriend had gone "crazy." There's no understanding Zimmerman's call aside from an attempt to save face on the record, knowing -- given his profile and history -- that, as was the case with the Trayvon shooting, the 911 calls would go public.
