Zayn Malik — the spunky tenor with the eyelashes that won't quit — has announced he has leaving the beloved boy band for good. One Direction shared the news via their Facebook page today, with Zayn explaining that he is leaving "because [he] want[s] to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight," while the rest of the band will continue as a four-piece. Naturally, the tragic news has elicited the sort of extreme reaction you'd expect from one of the world's most rabid and militant teen fandoms (including a whole bunch of hashtags that make it seem like Zayn has died -- #AlwaysInOurHeartsZaynMalik) .
