It had to happen: The big marquis announcing the home of the “Late Show with David Letterman” has been removed from the Ed Sullivan Theater. It had been a landmark and tourist destination since the show moved there in 1993.

Of course, what this really means is that a sign for the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” is coming soon…
