On Friday, October 10th, NBC's Dateline featured twenty-seven women who accuse Bill Cosby of inappropriate sexual behavior. The statute of limitations has prevented these women from bringing allegations to the courtroom. The women range in age from 46 - 80.
The show's air date coincided with Cosby testifying at an undisclosed location regarding an alleged incident that took place in 1974 with accuser Judy Huth. Huth is able to bring a case against Cosby because she was 15 years old, a minor, at the time of the incident. A hearing will be held on Dec 22nd regarding whether or not the testimony from Friday's deposition will be made public.
Cosby has never been charged with a crime. However, the repeated defamations to his public image have resulted in tour cancellations; Netflix pulled its planned comedy special; TV Land has stopped airing reruns of "The Cosby Show"; and NBC has decided to halt a proposed series.
