Although Donald Trump made the media rounds this morning to declare Hillary Clinton the winner of last night's Democratic presidential debate after live-tweeting the event, it seems as though Bernie Sanders' performance left a big impression, as the Republican frontrunner is curiously out with an odd new ad slamming Sanders as too weak to lead the nation because he was interrupted by Black Lives Matter activists earlier this year.
Not exactly the most topical campaign ad he's released, The Donald turned to his Instagram account, again, to hit his potential 2016 rival using inflammatory imagery of ISIS, including the infamous "Jihadi John."
"The world is a dangerous place," the ominous narrator states. "We need a tough, strong leader."
Cue the jarring record scratch and up comes an image of a flummoxed Sanders backing away from a microphone after two women interrupted his prepared comments in Seattle.
"Bernie can't even defend his microphone, how will he defend the country," the ad asks.
This isn't the fist time Trump has featured the infamous terrorist as his campaign ad's boogeyman. Back in August, Trump posted another Instagram video that juxtaposed the same image of Jihadi John with an image of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi engulfed in flames and interspersed with images of a golfing President Obama and a smiling Hillary Clinton to declare, "politicians are having fun on our dime while the world is burning."
Still, the timing of Trump's latest ad seems ... odd:
