Following the third and final presidential debate Wednesday night, conservative news site Breitbart is running a poll that, as of this writing, shows Hillary Clinton as the night's winner by a slim margin of roughly 3,000 votes (out of a total 230,000).
Online polls — which allow users to vote repeatedly — are terribly unscientific and should not necessarily be used as any real gage of public opinion. That said, Breitbart's poll is surprising because of the Republican presidential nominee's strong ties to the outlet, which is a haven for the alt-right of the conservative base.
Decision reflects the real world, in which the polls reflected that Hillary Clinton won the debate.
In March, after one if its reporters claimed Trump's first campaign manager Corey Lewandowski assaulted her, Breitbart sided with Trump. The decision lead to an "exodus" of reporters from the media company.
And in August, Trump axed then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort and brought on Breitbart's Steve Bannon as his campaign CEO.
