Gambling on Duke lacrosse team DNA

Online betting site invites wagers on team's test results.

Here's a revolting bit of news: WagerWeb.com, a gambling site, where betters typically wager on football, basketball, hockey and golf, is now taking bets on the Duke lacrosse team's DNA test results. WagerWeb.com is asking betters to predict how many DNA matches investigators will make when results come back on the samples they've taken from the teams' players.

The Web site Gambling 911 first reported on the betting: "Duke Lacrosse scandal: Now you can bet on it." Yet, the prospect of trying to profit off the physical evidence in an alleged gang rape case was so tasteless, I found it hard to believe. So, I called up WagerWeb.com, and the woman who answered the phone led me to the section of the site where bets are being taken. To see for yourself click here, and then click on "Exotic Props."
