The Senate hasn't managed to stand up to George W. Bush on much, but it finally pulled off something today: By a vote of 79-14, it overrode the president's veto of a $23 billion water resources bill.

The House voted 361-54 to override the veto earlier this week. It is, of course, the first veto override of Bush's tenure as president.
