Fox muzzles Sally Field

You can't know how gutless the network is unless you see the censored and uncensored videos. Watch.

I fast-forwarded through Sally Field's Emmy acceptance speech last night because I was crushed "The Sopranos'" Edie Falco didn't win. Yes, bad news judgment on my part.

But I still can't believe how gutless Fox is, after seeing both the Fox version of the speech and the Canadian television version. Sure, Field goes on a bit long, and seems to invite the hook by forgetting her lines mid-speech. But Canadian television let her finish. And Fox didn't just cut her off for time; they went back to a shot of her walking off the stage to applause. Watch both versions, first from CTV:

Then from Fox:

Such cowards. Or maybe they're just doing their part in the president's incompetent war on terror: surveying the freedoms the terrorists hate us for, and getting rid of as many as they can!
