This author uses rage to empower


A black woman showing the slightest sign of anger would hurl her straight into the angry black woman stereotype. So why is author Brittney Cooper leaning into her rage and calling anger a superpower? Cooper joined Salon’s D. Watkins on “Salon Talks” to break down why she has a right to be angry, part of her new book “Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower.” Cooper is an associate professor at Rutgers University and co-founder of the Crunk Feminist Collective blog.
