Salon Stage: Forest Blakk

The Canadian urban folk artist performs an exclusive version of his single "Love Me" for "Salon Stage," which he shared with Salon is about heartache and the experience of breaking someone else's heart. "I try to express the thing I'm going through," Blakk revealed.

Blakk, who picked up his first guitar at 15 when he was living on the streets, writes songs about love, loss, and resilience. When asked why he makes music, Blakk responded. "It's connection. That's the core of it all. I think most of us just want to be heard."
