Actor Matthew Rhys, who stars alongside Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in Steven Spielberg's film "The Post," talked about playing the government leaker and whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg and his influential role in the publishing of the Pentagon Papers. Playing an intelligent and influential figure in American history was an advantage, Rhys said, and he used Ellsberg as a map and a guide through his character work for the film, which centers on the Washington Post's decision to publish the Pentagon Papers.
