Former Joint Terrorism Task Force member and FBI Special Agent Clint Watts warned on MSNBC that special council Robert Mueller could be issuing more indictments as President Donald Trump meets with Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

“What is going on here?” Brian Williams asked Watts, a senior fellow at the Center for Cyber and Homeland Security at George Washington University and a Foreign Policy Research Institute fellow.

“Remember, this day would be Veterans Day and it was going to be the big D.C. parade that got canceled,” Watts noted. “So it’s odd that you want to go and do a follow-up meeting.”

Watts noted that the special counsel investigation is presumed to have gone largely dark before the election, but could offer more revelations afterward.

“Everybody seems to think that after the midterms is when things might start to roll out again,” Watts noted.

“You could come into a circumstance here where the Mueller investigation is literally rolling out additional indictments, finding, reports — all related to Russia and collusion, obstruction of justice and just interference in general — at the same time the president is meeting with Vladimir Putin,” he concluded.

“It’s odd timing, I don’t know what there is to gain by this media,” Watts added.
