President Donald Trump’s team expects special counsel Robert Mueller to turn his report in the coming days, but they don’t appear to have a plan in place, according to a new report.

The White House expects Mueller will submit the report “imminently,” according to two sources familiar with the situation who spoke to Axios, but the website’s reporters haven’t noticed as sense of panic or great urgency about the matter.

The sources said Mueller’s team hasn’t had a substantive conversation with Trump’s lawyers in weeks, and many of the special counsel’s investigators are returning to their jobs, which has heightened anticipation that the report many be coming soon.

But Trump’s associates believe the presidential summit with North Korea next week could buy him some time.

“I don’t think they’d put it out while the President is in Vietnam,” a source close to Trump told Axios. “But, hey — they put out something major while he was in Helsinki, so who knows?”
