Tom Jennings, the director of the National Geographic film, "Charles: In His Own Words," studied a lifetime of archival footage of the king. Jennings tells Salon why he thinks Meghan and Harry have "probably lit a fire under Charles" about evolving the monarchy, and perhaps, pushed him to accelerate the process. Jennings explains why Meghan's relationship is symbolic and what Charles hopes for his own future.
