Joseph Neese is Salon’s Editor in Chief. He leads editorial coverage at Salon, helping craft journalism that takes a critical look at current events, seeks alternatives to the status quo, engages with big ideas and holds power to account.
Neese has held a variety of managerial roles at Salon since 2017, including social media manager, managing editor and executive editor. He is a proud graduate of Boston College, as well as the Poynter Institute’s Leadership Academy for newsroom leaders.
Prior to joining Salon in 2017, Neese was a Social Media Editor for NBC News and MSNBC. He first worked as a Production Assistant at MSNBC in 2012, before moving on to coordinate Talent Acquisition efforts for NBC News, MSNBC, and CNBC. You can follow him on Instagram: @josephneese.
