President Donald Trump pushed for an end to all early voting in a post to Truth Social on Sunday.
Trump made the barest connection between the headline-grabbing NBA gambling probes and a 2020 election he claims was “rigged and stolen.” Trump’s claim that his loss to Joe Biden was the result of fraud has been disproven time and time again, but that didn’t stop him from using the Big Lie to call for a ban on mail-in and early voting in the 2026 midterms.
“What’s worse, the NBA Players cheating at cards, and probably much else, or the Democrats cheating on Elections?” he asked. The 2020 Presidential Election, being Rigged and Stolen, is a far bigger SCANDAL.”
Trump called his election loss “the biggest scandal in American history” and urged the Department of Justice to investigate the half-decade-old grievance with “gusto.” The president said Republicans need to “get smart” and outlaw all voting outside of Election Day.
“No mail-in or ‘Early’ Voting, Yes to Voter ID! Watch how totally dishonest the California Prop Vote is! Millions of Ballots being ‘shipped,'” he wrote. “GET SMART REPUBLICANS, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!”
